Gas Deal Brings Big Money to Russia

Russia has just agreed a 30 year gas supply deal with China that could have huge implications on the domestic economy and could see the wealth spread to Russian consumers and business far beyond just the energy sector.

President Putin agreed the deal whilst visiting China on trade talks. One of the world’s richest countries in natural resources, Russia has been seen as an attractive prospect for foreign investors in recent years with a vast consumer market and easy access to other CIS countries.

Now with this deal bringing in many hundreds of millions of dollars into the country, through state owned energy supplier Gazprom, it is bound to bring a boom to the economy and money and investment opportunities could well become more readily available with the Russian government now able to allocate greater resources to help the growth of the economy and business sector of the country.
